A much needed break

April 3, 2023

Spring break is almost here. The students and staff are preparing to do many activities while on break. Whether traveling, hanging with family, working out, or sleeping in, everyone has something to do for the break.

The district is expected to have April 6th to April 10th for spring break. Students and staff are expected to return on April 11th. This five day schedule is normal for the district and only subjected to change if we were to run out of snow days.

Not everyone has a five day spring break. According to junior Patrick Vance, his school, “Has off from Friday through Monday for spring break.” Because different schools are noted to have different schedules, it’s harder to justify whether Saucon’s is akin to schools in our area.

Students have many plans for the upcoming break. “I am going to Rita’s and planning to use my Easter money to spend at the King of Prussia mall,” said junior Aidan Villegas.

On the other hand, some students have no plans for the break.  For example, junior Mason Tabb commented that, “I’m planning on sleeping in, pretty much for the break. I have no plans really.”

One grand festivity for spring break is Easter. Junior Aaron Mawson notes coming from a religious family where they have certain customs, “I remember going to church on Easter when I was younger. Easter is an important holiday for my family due to our religious values.”

All in all, spring break is an important time off. The breaks allows students to get together with family, spend time with each other, and enjoy the religious customs some of students may have. Spring break is surely a time that everyone will find a way to enjoy regardless of the activities they have planned.
