Lisa Peteto has left Saucon Valley High School after working at the school for years. Peteto had worked at the high school for 20 ½ years until October. She was one of Saucon’s lunch and hall monitors who was very loved by Saucon’s students and staff members.
“I love working here and tried to get free days to come in and work but I couldn’t, so I had to choose the other job because when opportunities arrives, you have to grab them,” said Peteto when asked about her leaving.
Many students and staff will miss Peteto and reflected on her time at the school.
“I enjoyed her positive attitude and her willingness to help others,” said special education teacher Martin Lewis. He also commented on her connection with students, “The way she connected with students made me want to gain a better rapport with my students.”
Kevin Petruceli worked with Lisa for many years and noted how dedicated she was to her job. He had fond memories of pranks he pulled on her over the years.
“She was a dedicated worker and Lisa helped break me in, she helped train me.” Petruceli also noted that while Peteto’s shoes will be hard to fill, he hopes someone will eventually fill them so he doesn’t have to monitor the cafeteria alone.
Mary Seip who works in the attendance office was good friends with Peteto and has a connection with her even beyond the school walls. She noted that her favorite memory of Peteto was “when all of our kids went to school together and we worked together,” she also added she is really going to miss their talks.
Peteto was known for helping out all over the school. “She would help me out in the attendance office when I got overwhelmed, she was always willing to ask if I needed help with anything,” said Seip.
I personally would like to add that Peteto helped me so much throughout my freshman year and she was always there to check up on me when she knew I was not okay. I know I will miss Peteto working at Saucon Valley and I know she will be missed by many other staff members along with many students.
