As of last year, 2022, the SteelStacks built an outdoor ice skating rink. They originally have an indoor one right around the corner but the outdoor one is going to be better. Ice skaters will have a new opportunity to show off their moves and spend time with the ones they love.
The outdoor SteelStacks ice skating rink will be open daily, including holidays, beginning Tuesday, November 22. Throughout the season, the rink will be packed with events for all ages, including birthday parties, themed nights, sporting events and more.
Ticket prices have gone up due to more activities and events at the rink. For ages 14 and older, it’s $23-$26 and 13 and younger is $20,$23. On Mondays, ages 13 and younger are $10. Other specialties are that ArtsQuest members and Group rates (15 or more people) are $19-22.
Skating sessions are expected to last 75-90 minutes, with a 30 minute break in between. Skaters will be able to purchase mittens and socks and rent skates, when they arrive or store their own items.
There are lockers at the rink for your belongings. Cost is $10 per lockers and lockers are first come, first served per skate session. Multiple sessions will be scheduled daily. All session times can be found here and tickets can be bought there and online.
This new rink will provide ice skaters more room and extended period of time. The expanded attraction also is about 1,500-square-feet larger than last year. It’ll measure a total of 50-by-120 feet in diameter. Partrond also will have more time to skate- about 2 weeks longer than last year- with the rink’s closure expected on Martin Luther King Day (Jan.15).
