The Student Government Association is hosting this year’s pageant. The event was run for the benefit of miniTHON last year, which is no longer a running club at Saucon.
Junior Julia Reilly is looking forward to a unique array of talents. “I’m not sure who’s in the pageant, but I’ll go if I can. I really like to watch the talents and the contestants usually make it fun and entertaining to watch,” said Reilly.
Most of this year’s contestants are expected to bring the excitement to the audience, and be able to raise money for their individual causes and for the school. The pageant fosters the creativity of contestants and allows them to showcase their uniqueness on stage.
Senior Ava Kriner has been to the pageant in recent years, and hopes this year will live up to what she has seen before. “I watched the pageant last year and thought it was very entertaining. The judges and audience were enthusiastic which made it more exciting to be a part of. If this year is anything like last year’s, I’ll definitely be coming to see it,” said Kriner.
Judges make harsh calls based on an in depth display of all kinds of talents. In the end, those with the greatest enthusiasm, work ethic, and, of course, glamor, will take home a title. Those who work hard in raising money bring an extra special component to the event, service to their community.
Junior SGA member Morgan Krewatch is hoping there is a great show out for the benefit of the student government. “I really hope people will come and support because it is a great opportunity to have fun and support your school at the same time. I think the event is amazing because it ties in the charity fundraising aspect to all the fun events we have here at school,” said Krewatch.
Krewatch is hoping the students can pull through and make this event worthwhile. If they are able to make donations and money from ticket sales, they are sure to help some charity organizations reach their goals!
It is clear that this event will be exciting and valuable for both the students involved and the community. The students’ showmanship and dedication to contributing to society is a great display of the kind of students we have here at Saucon.
