Halloween is one of the most popular holidays, following Christmas. On Halloween children all across the country dress up in costumes and walk up and down the streets of their town. They go from door to door, saying “trick or treat,” hoping to (and mostly) receive candy from those who answer the door. But a few questions still stand. Which candy is the best? Which one should I dare to try? Below I have listed for you the top 10 Halloween candies for this spooky season.
Number 10: Hersey’s Mini Chocolate Bar
The Hersey’s Mini Chocolate Bar is the perfect bite-size version of the classic Hersey’s Chocolate Bar. These little chocolates are included in many of the multi-packs of candy that are bought during the season. These get the #10 spot as they are a classic, but aren’t on the same level as newer candies.
Number 9: Sour Patch Kids
Sour Patch Kids are little gummies covered in sour sugar, providing both a sweet and sour sensation. These gummies are shaped like little kids, hence the name. These are some of the most popular sour candies to find on Halloween, and are popular with younger kids because of the fun sour flavors.
Number 8: Skittles
Skittles are another classic colorful candy to find during the spooky season. Skittles are similar to M&M’s color wise, but have fruity flavors and aren’t made of chocolate. These candies are #8 for a very good reason, they can go bad and become hard to chew. I know it’s sad to say but just like other candies, Skittles can get hard after a few days or weeks and don’t pack the same punch as they did fresh.
Number 7: Nestle Crunch
Nestle Crunch is a classic that cannot be missed. The chocolate bar with little Rice Krispies is one of the most famous and delicious candies. This candy seems to be one of the candies left at the bottom of the bucket by the end of Halloween. This is a simple yet delicious candy that is popping throughout the trick-or-treating.
Number 6: M & M’s
Who can deny a classic… no one can. M&M’s are still one of the most popular candies during Halloween and are commonly accompanied by Skittles, Peanut M&M’s, and other small packs of candy. These colorful, small chocolate pieces are simple yet unforgettably delicious.
Number 5: Peanut M & M’s
As mentioned in #6, Peanut M&M’s are usually in large bags with regular M&M’s, Skittle, and more. These candies have a peanut covered in milk chocolate with a candy-coated shell. These are another oldie but a goodie candy that everyone still loves to enjoy.
Number 4: Snickers
Snickers is a candy bar that contains peanuts, creamy caramel, crunchy nougat, and milk chocolate. This candy bar mini is in constant debate with its rival…Twix. Snickers catch the eye of sweet and salty people who want a sweet treat.
Number 3: KitKat
KitKat is a crunchy wafer covered in milk chocolate. KitKats tend to come in different shapes such as vampire teeth, and other spooky shapes. KitKat is a classic and cannot be mistaken as a simple candy. These will never grow old and will always be a top 3 choice on Halloween candy.
Number 2: Twix
Twix comes with one ultimate question: Left or Right? To me, it doesn’t matter, but if you have a side you prefer that’s awesome. No matter which side you choose, Twix has a shortbread cookie and caramel covered in milk chocolate. Twix are top 3 worthy like no other candy below them.
Number 1: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
Finally, we have reached the only #1 candy. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are exactly what they are. Peanut butter covered in smooth milk chocolate. These are so simple yet can make you smile after one bite. Reese’s also comes in an alternate shape for the spooky season, and it’s the classic spooky pumpkin. This candy is the most popular, most purchased, and the first eaten out-of-the-bucket kind of candy that everyone loves.
There you have it, the top 10 Halloween candies for the 2024 spooky season. Now, you may debate my places for each candy, but let’s just agree to disagree for now. So, what’s your favorite candy to snack on during trick or treat? What’s the lonely candy left in the bottom of your treat bucket? Only you know the answer to those questions, but I hope you’ll dare to try some of these deadly delicious candies this Halloween.
