What made you want to do the morning announcements?
I wish I had a better reason than because it looked like fun. It was an alignment of several lucky circumstances, and I’m proud of the work I’ve done.
Do you have an interest in film/production/theatre when you are older as a hobby or career?
While film production doesn’t actually appeal to me that much, I’d love to continue theater at some level. I do believe I have some talent, and would hate to waste it.
What is your favorite movie and why?
This is a hard question. I’ll go with “The Usual Suspects,” because despite the violence it is a very intelligent film, and the twist is very good. I also appreciate that it was an original idea, as opposed to a book adaptation, and that they didn’t try to force a sequel.
What roles have you had in previous plays throughout high school?
Most of my roles have been minor named ones, I’ve always managed to keep out of the ensemble. Oklahoma was my biggest role to date, as Ali Hakim, but I also got the lead role in the smaller play “Cafe Murder.”
Do you participate in any clubs?
Over my high school career, many, but as of currently, it is restricted to scholastic scrimmage and theater.
Have you ever played an instrument? If so, what?
I briefly did percussion in elementary school, but lost interest quickly.
What other hobbies do you have?
I play video games of course, and I wish I had the desire to read books like I used to. I’m also getting into exercising more.
If you could start one club what would it be and why?
Probably a chess club, I’m not great myself, but I’m aware of many people who are really into it. If that doesn’t work, probably the Luke McGloughlin Fan Club.
What is your favorite word and why?
That’s a constantly changing answer. Currently it’s between pusillanimous, which means cowardly, and amanuensis, which is someone who takes notes.
Who do you think should carry the torch of handling the morning announcements when you graduate and why?
I don’t have anyone specific in mind, really anyone with the necessary chutzpah to walk into random classes and grab students to volunteer. I may hold tryouts towards the end of the year.
