Summer around Hellertown is honestly what you make of it, but there are a few go to things that always end up being fun if you’re a high schooler. One of the main spots people hang out is Dimmick Park. During the day it’s usually people at the playground just messing around or sitting on the swings talking for way longer than they planned. There’s also the baseball fields, and even if no one’s playing an actual game people will still bring a bat and just hit balls around. It’s the kind of place where you don’t really need a plan with friends, you just show up and it turns into something.

Another good spot is Water Street Park, especially later in the day. A lot of people go there to walk or bike, and it’s kinda more chill. A lot of high school kids go there to play basketball. I’ve seen plenty of kids there. Like if you just wanna talk with friends or clear your head a little, that’s the place. Going around sunset is probably the best time because it just looks better and it’s not as hot anymore.

Not everything has to be outside though. Sometimes at night or when it’s way too hot, going somewhere like B Social can be fun, especially if you go with a bigger group. It actually gives you something to do instead of just standing around on your phone the whole time.

Honestly summer is less about where you go and more about who you’re with. Even doing something simple ends up being what you remember the most.
