We are nearing the end of the school year, and therefore mere weeks away from the 2023 prom being held at Homewood Suites on May 5th. Countless time has gone into this year’s prom planning by the junior class advisor and physical education teacher, Katie Roberts, the junior class officers, and the prom committee.

This year’s theme is “A Night on the Italian Countryside.”

“The prom theme and decor will hopefully transport you out of Center Valley and into the Italian Countryside,” said Roberts.

The theme allows for endless possibilities of decorations, all that will make a beautiful scene to admire.

“A night on the Italian countryside, that’s what I’m most excited to see come to life,” said junior Sydney Eberling, member of the prom committee.

“I’m most excited for the decorations. That’s something I’ve had a big part in,” shared junior class treasurer Kylah Ferguson. As one of the four class officers, Ferguson has had a big hand in the process of prom planning. This has been a big responsibility for all those involved.

While prom is an overall fun event, many overlook the amount of stress that comes with not only planning. Whether you’re worried about who’s going to ask you, who you’re going to ask, what color to wear, who to get ready with, etc., it’s important to focus on the positive aspects of the night.

Junior Constantine Donahue shared his excitement about the food options at this year’s prom. As a prom veteran, Donahue has some high expectations when it comes to cuisine.

The menu consists of a pasta bar, sliders, martini mashed potatoes, and, for dessert, a chocolate fountain.

“I hope that the food is good again. It was really good last year,” shared Donahue, “I’m Greek, I love pasta. I really do love pasta. I’m looking forward to the sliders, they’re a nice little addition and a nice little side dish.”

Whatever your opinions on prom are, it’s important to recognize all of the hard work that has gone into the planning in hopes of creating a night to remember for all attendees.
