Saucon Valley High School Choir is a place where you can sing freely and have fun learning beautiful pieces of music. As a soprano of Saucon Valley High School Choir, I have experienced a lot of fun things in choir. Some events I have performed at are county choir, and Christkindlmarkt. We performed for families and students. After performing at Christkindlmarkt, we were able to walk around and enjoy different stores.
At county choir, we practiced 10 songs in total as sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses. The sopranos and altos sang “Hold Fast to Dreams: and the tenors and basses sang “Pure Imagination.” On the second day of county choir, we performed those songs for teachers and parents. Many different schools were there singing alongside each other. After the performance, we all crowded the hallway saying goodbye to each other.
Sophomore student Laura Mercado Roa likes choir. She states that the students encourage each other and are very friendly with each other. She says the choir teacher is very open and compassionate. Mercado Roa says some events include seasonal concerts, field trips, and fundraisers. She is an alto and said that you don’t need any prior experience to have fun singing.
Tenor Benjamin Fitz says that the choir sings everyday and practices vocals. He states, “For concerts, we perform music that we’ve been working on in class.” Fitz says the kind of music the choir performs is classic and pop. He also says that everyone is welcome in choir.
If you want to have a place to sing freely without judgement, then joining Saucon Valley High School Choir is the place for you!
