Saucon Valley High School stage crew is a fun opportunity to build things and show your creativity while making sets. As a crew member myself, I do not have a lot of experience with it, but from what little I’ve done and seen, it is such a cool and fun experience. There are 2 stage managers and 2 assistant managers. The stage managers are Moss Jeanmonod and Isabela Rodriguez. The 2 assistant stage managers are Brady Skuba and Gregg Jeudi.
Jeanmonod directs others with jobs, tell members what’s going on, and build the set. She says it takes up to 3 months to build the set. Jeanmonod explained that for the show, the crew makes sure that costumes are in place. They control lights and sound, build the background, and learn the cues for the set changes.
“The stage managers communicate with walkie talkies and crew members whisper to each other,” Joeanmonod explained. “It starts with a sketch, then we put it into a graphic design app, check o see what wood we have, make rolling platforms, make the barebones, use plywood for little things, add details, and paint.”
She explained that there is no place to put the set, but they take it apart after the show. The last thing Jeanmonod told me is that most of the time, the cast and crew get along unless they sit on set pieces or make up rumors about the crew.
Member Elliana Kravatz is part of stage crew. She has been helping with the set when possible. She does the lighting for the stage. Kravatz told me that all stage crew members are nice to each other and work well together.
The last person I talked to was main cast member Benjamin Fitz. He said that no experience is needed to join stage crew.
If you’re looking for a fun opportunity to show your creativity through building, then Saucon Valley High School stage crew is just the place for you.
