Although it may be too early to speculate, I have some ideas contributing towards my prediction as to who will win the Super Bowl in 2027.
The defending champions are the Seattle Seahawks, which came with great surprise as many deemed quarterback Sam Darnold a bust and incapable of showing up in big games and playoff berths. With the grand comeback story and a shocking playoff run, the Seahawks lay out the ideal of “anything is possible” for remaining teams alike in the NFL.
My favorite to win the Super Bowl will not be the aging Rams, or the Chiefs without quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but I believe the Washington Commanders will emerge victorious in the 2026-27 playoffs and Super Bowl. People like to forget about Washington in the playoff conversation, although just a year ago they were the powerhouse to defeat, as they were 13-4 and secured a playoff berth for the first time in 5 years. In the first round, they caught their first playoff win since 2005 and reached their first conference championship in the 21st century. All this success can be attributed towards LSU superstar quarterback Jayden Daniels, who had large success in his first year under Washington. The instant success always comes with a slump though as he met various injuries, stunting his second year development, along with making the Commanders very weak.
I expect different in 2026-27, as rather than having an aging and injured team, the Commanders have made moves to rid the old, and I expect good things in this summer’s draft, further growing on a damaged Washington team. Daniels is still a young generational talent, and wide receiver Terry McLaurin is still in his prime. Daniels has shown why he is a playoff contender and riser, so with the weaknesses growing in Philadelphia, Daniel’s largest roadblock is out of the way.
This is why I project the Washington Commanders to emerge victorious as the 2027 Super Bowl champions.
