No matter how old people are, Halloween is a time many look forward to. It’s the beginning of fall, and many see Halloween as the beginning of the holiday season.
Halloween originated over 2,000 years ago during an ancient Celtic festival of Sahmian, with the jack-o’-lantern being its symbol. Not everyone celebrates it, but those who do, love Halloween for many reasons: dressing up for trick-or-treat and parties, going to pumpkin patches, carving pumpkins and other haunted activities at Dorney.
“For the Leo club, I’m [helping with] a trunk-or-treat that helps fundraise,” said freshman Atlee Gonsalves. The Halloween-themed fundraiser took place on Oct. 23 in the administration parking lot.
“I’m going to a Halloween party, trick-or-treating and going to the haunt,” said freshman Ali Kunigus.
Halloween is a holiday that started long ago and has stuck around for ages with all the fun celebrations that go along with it. It is a time to have fun and be with friends and family. Many have agreed that the top five ways to celebrate are: go trick-or-treating, go to the haunted houses and hayrides, go to the haunt at Dorney, have sleepovers with friends and go to Halloween themed parties.
