Jaxson Dart has Giants fans in an absolute frenzy. The rookie sensation has lived up to every expectation and more. He’s breaking records—doing things Giants fans haven’t seen since prime Eli Manning. He’s changing the course of the franchise and is carrying everyone on his back.
Dart started his college career at USC in 2021. He showed a lot of promise and was projected to be the starter in 2022. Then, head coach Lincoln Riley switched from Oklahoma to USC. Riley’s QB, Caleb Williams followed suit—transferring to USC and taking the starting role. Following that, Dart, the future of college football, went on a tear. He transferred to Ole Miss, started all 39 collegiate games from 2022-2024 and broke Chad Kelley’s all-time passing record for yards thrown in one season, 4,279 passing yards. This record will surely stand for many years to come.
With all of Dart’s success, of course there are some people who are skeptical. “I think he’s pretty overrated so far, but his future is bright,” said senior Tony Salgado.
It’s interesting how people think Dart’s overrated when he became the third quarterback EVER to have 50 rushing yards in each of the first three games. The other two? Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts. An MVP and a Super Bowl champion, but people call Dart overrated?
Dart is currently second in the ROTY (Rookie of the Year) polls, following only Emeka Egbuka. Even with Dart putting up these numbers, the Giants are still losing. Why do you ask? They’re the Giants.
When Jaxson Dart puts up three to four more games with the same numbers he’s been achieving, I believe he will become the favorite for the award, hands down.
“No, he has a better chance due to him being a quarterback. But I still don’t think he’s gonna get it,” added Salgado.
I guess Tony will never understand what winning feels like when his team has Geno Smith as quarterback.
