During the winter, Saucon has a wrestling team that consists of JV and varsity. Wrestling is a very competitive sport which calls for a good mindset to have a good match, it takes a lot of effort to stay positive throughout this upcoming season to the end.
“I like to listen to music to get everything off my head and focus on my match,” freshman Dominic D’Ambola shared.
This sport needs many years of experience and practice to be able to get better. Many say that the longer they have been playing makes their season better, and makes it more of an enjoyable sport.
“ I’ve been wrestling for 4 years. This season is going to be a better year than last year and it’s going good so far,” shared junior Liam Stoneback.
Support in a sport is very important for all athletes. Wrestling needs a lot of positive encouragement to manage good mental health. Having good support in a sport can help improve how you play and how you feel about it. Saucon has a student section called the jungle that always pumps up players as well as supportive friends and family members who always uplift their players.
“ I feel all the support I get is definitely necessary and helps me through my tough matches,” said D’Ambola.
This upcoming season will be fun and exciting. The wrestlers of Saucon are very supportive of each other and they are always ready for a fight. They have all worked very hard to get where they all are now, so come support them at their next match!
