The Yankees’ offseason has been quiet, but they have made a few roster moves. New York re-signed infielder Amed Rosario to a one-year deal worth about $2.5 million, keeping him in the infield mix for 2026.
Several Yankees avoided arbitration and agreed to new one-year contracts, including David Bednar ($9 million), Camilo Doval ($6.1 million), Jazz Chisholm Jr. ($10.2 million), Anthony Volpe ($3.475 million), Luis Gil ($2.1625 million), José Caballero ($2 million), and Fernando Cruz ($1.45 million).
New York also brought in veteran depth by signing Paul DeJong to a minor-league contract with a spring training invite.
Beyond those official deals, the Yankees have not added any major free agents to the 40-man roster yet, and their focus has been on keeping the current roster intact while exploring options.
A key storyline remains the ongoing effort to re-sign Cody Bellinger, who opted out and is a top priority for the club. It’s rumored that the Yankees have offered him a contract of approximately 7 years with about 30 million AAV.
So far, the offseason has been about re-signing key contributors, settling arbitration cases, and adding minor depth, rather than big splashes. With Spring Training approaching, the Yankees may still make additional moves.
The cautious approach has kept most of the 2025 roster together while leaving flexibility for potential trades or signings before camp opens. If they end up making a splash for a big name free agent, all will be revealed in due time.
