What is your favorite color?

I always thought this was a tough question even though most people have a go-to. I like green and blue for clothing, grey and black for cars but I can’t immediately say one is my absolute favorite.

Are you a cat or dog person?

I’m definitely a dog person. I like a pet you can play with and is super loving and loyal. Almost all cats I’ve had or met only seem to care about me or their owners at dinner time!

What job did you have during high school?

I had a few of the traditional ones, restaurant work, grocery cashier, but my favorite was a small ice cream/water ice shop in Souderton where I grew up. My boss was pretty laid back, I worked with some pretty cool people, and I got to sample ice cream and water ice whenever I wanted!

What is your favorite song?

Another tough one but I definitely have to pick one from my favorite band, Thrice. Even then it’s a difficult choice but I’d have to go with either Silhouette or Paper Tigers off of their album titled “The Artist in the Ambulance”.

What is your favorite movie?

This one is easy. Star Wars all the way. I was a little kid when my parents showed me the original trilogy (what is now movies numbers 4, 5, and 6). I thought they were the coolest thing ever. Of all the movies I’ve seen since, nothing ever compares to that initial sense of amazement I got first seeing all those awesome space ships and lightsabers.

Who is/are your teacher best friend(s)?

While I consider all of my colleagues friends, I’ve gotten to know Mr. Scleicher, Mr. Karetsky, and Mr. Gordon very well over the last 10+ years.

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?

While I do genuinely love teaching I do ask myself sometimes if I wasn’t a teacher what would I do? I love teaching my Graphic Communication class, especially the digital art unit so I would love to do something with digital art. Drawing vector graphics, logos, design work, or anything related to that would be fun. And as I mentioned above I really love Sci-fi and space, so if I had the ability, I’d also really like to work at NASA doing work on space probes or rockets. Being a part of that whole process and watching stuff I work on get launched to orbit would be amazing.

Do you have any pets?

My wife and kids are trying to convince me to get a cat but based on my earlier statement I’m kind of against it even though kittens are really cute. Our dog passed away about a year ago and I haven’t moved on enough yet to get another one so that’s why as a dog person I don’t currently have a dog. However, my house is not pet-less. I have two pet rats, yes rats, named Mac and Cheese. Rats are awesome pets because they’re like little dogs! They’re really friendly, love getting pets, can do tricks, and love to play. So far I they have both learned their names, know how to “shake” paws, and jump over objects for Cheerios.

What is your favorite sport to watch or play?

I’ve always been a big hockey fan and followed the Flyers my whole life. They’re tough to watch right now but hopefully they can make some good moves and decisions in the next 5 years to be competitive again.

Do you have any hobbies?

I enjoy drawing and doing crafts with my daughter and playing football or hockey with my son and daughter. As for non-kid related hobbies, I like reading (love The Expanse book series and currently reading Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir), playing boardgames with friends and family, Dungeons and Dragons, and video games. And since those hobbies may trigger some sub-questions, I’m currently playing a mix of DayZ, Overwatch 2, Rocket League, Hogwarts Legacy, and Call of Duty when I have some free time at night. My friend from college has a son the same age as mine so we started a DandD campaign recently. It’s my first time playing and I’m loving it so far. I have a Woodelf Ranger named Halfarin Demorath. And as for board games, I’m amazed at how far they’ve come since the days of only having a few standard games to play. My group is actually trying to decide on our next boardgame to try, but we’re leaning towards a Lord of the Rings themed game.
